Quick Review:

Frogger Hyper Arcade Edition, is the neon version of the classic arcade title. Love it or hate it, Frogger's decades-old tried and true gameplay is here in all its glory.

Frogger Hyper also brings along several extra gameplay modes, including multiplayer battles and a paint-by-numbers challenge, all while never straying far from the core mechanics. It's the best version of Frogger I've ever played, but it falls short of being a must-play for those with no interest in the franchise.

I'm still waiting for Neon Q-Bert Mondo Edition.

I've always been slightly disturbed by Frogger. First off, he's as big as a car, yet doesn't have enough mass to even slightly alter the course of a vehicle that runs him down. And then there's the lady frogs... whatever he does to them appears to be the same as he does with the giant flies. They're just instantly absorbed into his body. Creeeeeepy.

Artist's Notes

The ESRB rating for Frogger Hyper only lists Mild Fantasy Violence. I don't know if I consider being hit by a car and turned into a splotch on the road "fantasy". Seems pretty realistic to me. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happens to frogs when they try to cross a busy highway.
